What’s an evening without a round of Pfeffi with old and new friends? A good peppermint liqueur is the refreshing must-have for any self-respecting bar! And our Green Horn comes across as particularly refreshing. Although one of the younger ones in our clique, it is anything else but a greenhorn.
Everyone loves Pfeffi!
And especially us! That’s why we put a lot of effort into the production of Green Horn Peppermint. Green Horn is already a classic due to its high quality and the addition of finest peppermint. Gastronomes and connoisseurs swear by Green Horn – pure, on the rocks or mixed. And if Wilhelm Horn were still alive, our peppermint liqueur would certainly be one of his favorites.
THE GREEN HORN STORY
The origin of peppermint liqueur is attributed to the French pharmacist Emile Giffard, who in 1885 recognized the digestive and invigorating effects of mint and came up with the idea of making it as a liqueur in a recipe he created – Crème de Menthe was born. And from then on, several spirits producers tried their hand at peppermint liqueur.
The Pfeffi has belonged on every spirits shelf for many decades, and for some years now it has been experiencing a veritable rebirth as a cult shot in bars, clubs and pubs.
A Green Horn – green but not a Greenhorn!
Wilhelm Horn’s heirs also rely on the refreshing and invigorating effect of peppermint. The green peppermint fairy “Green Horn” has been on the market since 2017 and is already one of the most popular digestifs in the city of Leipzig.
